Urban Design

City of Vancouver, Southeast False Creek
Southeast False Creek (SEFC) has been designed to be a residential community that incorporates principles of energy efficient design in its area plan and become a model 'sustainable community'. The website includes some historical information, tracks the planning process, and provides information on the development of private and public lands. (VIA made significant contributions to the creation of the Overall Development Plan and pursued Rezoning for a private lands parcel.)

Community Architecture

City of Vancouver, Vancouver's New Neighbourhoods - Acheivements in Planning and Urban Design
VIA Architecture directed the judicious installation and siting of four new components - the centre, the gymnasium, the entry court, and the pavilion. Each added piece is intended to restore the Roundhouse as the crossroads at the centre of a community and balances a simple direct response to function within the larger whole.
