This project is the realization of a vision that foresaw the creation of a place in the heart of West Vancouver that would provide a vibrant recreational, cultural and social meeting place for the citizens while acting as the focal point for celebration and community events.

The goal of the study was, with the help of a citizens’ advisory group, to realise the vision through the production of a Land Use Plan for the community surrounding the central site and a conceptual Master Plan for the central site itself. This was approved in 2000 and the plan’s infrastructure has since been built, with construction of a new Community centre anticipated in 2005.
