Shenyang is entering the 21st century with the vision of leading China as a model for the country’s urban and industrial development. This ambition is built on the track record of its proud past as the home of the Manchu dynasty and as China’s industrial powerhouse of the mid 20th century.

Transit City consists of a 22 kilometre line with 6 elevated stations at the East and West ends of the line and 11 underground stations spaced throughout the City Centre. LRT Line 1 is the first of 5 lines that will serve the citizens of Shenyang.

Like pearls on a necklace this ribbon of a City-within- a-City will integrate transportation with land development in a sustainable environment. It will embed a wholly new social and economic resource within the historic City of Shenyang, and its expanding hinterlands. This new Transit City will interlink new residential, commercial, recreational, and production centres, and Shenyang’s primary existing destinations.
