OCTA CENTERLINE
ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
The Urban character of the area near Warner and MacArthur Stations in Orange County,
California consists predominantly of strip commercial development with street front parking lots along the major arteries surrounded by single family residences. The chosen system alignment
along Bristol street is further characterized by high traffic volume and an unwelcome pedestrian experience.
The station designs address these conditions by boldly identifying the entrances to the stations and providing a gracious experience for the transit patron.
The suite of CenterLine Stations has adopted a language of bent tube structures to
give a consistent experience throughout the line. The stations at Warner and
MacArthur utilize the bent tubes to provide support for the canopies and lights and
generate a rhythmic structural enclosure which is scaled to create user comfort and architectural interest.
