Among Graham McGarva's sterling qualities are an obsession with soccer and a penchant for poetry, which he writes on cast-off graph paper or his Blackberry. His gift is for translating the mundane into the transcendent, both in terms of word pictures and in nurturing "places worthy of affection." His professional passion is progressive community building, and his architectural projects are his younger children. He is a regular presenter for Simon Fraser University's City Program and has taught and presented at the University of British Columbia and British Columbia Institute of Technology. European by upbringing, global by temperament, paradise for Graham is the hum of a healthy city.
