Marlene began her bean-counting career as an internal auditor in commercial banking, followed by many years in the Alberta "Oil Patch." She spent eight years living in Munich, where employees get so many holidays that she seemed to spend more time traveling to every museum and art gallery in Europe than playing at being a computer programmer and tax specialist for German investors. While studying the European Masters and trying to emulate their techniques, she fell in love with the process of painting and the mysteries of colour. Upon her return to Canada, Marlene chose to surround herself with art and artists-what better place than at an architectural firm in Vancouver?
