Project Manager (Seattle)

VIA Architecture is a multi-disciplinary firm of urban strategists creating connected communities. With offices in Seattle, Oakland and Vancouver BC, we are a highly interactive studio-based practice concentrating in planning, architecture and design for urban mixed-use development and infrastructure. Our systems-level sustainable design strategies and community-based design studio set us apart from traditional architectural practice.

We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Project Manager in our Seattle office.  This person will work within our multidisciplinary team to provide management and leadership on high-rise residential, commercial and public transit projects.

We are interested in exceptional candidates with strong analytical, communication and technical skills who are passionately involved in community building at all scales.

Experience Requirements

  • Registered architect with 5-6 years of Project Management experience – 10-15 years of overall professional experience.

Key Skills

  • Dedicated team player, excellent communicator, possessing demonstrated skill in management of complex projects, and collaborative design disciplines.
  • Ability to work independently and/or as an advocate for a small to medium sized VIA team.
  • Strong client relations skills and the ability to advocate for VIA’s playbook values in tandem.
  • Experience with one or more project delivery methods including design-bid-build and integrated project delivery.
  • Familiarity with consultant roles, and all phases of design, and ability to translate these into RFP’s for delivery to clients and potential teaming partners.
  • Ability to manage, review, track, and control project schedules, scope, budgets, invoicing, and client expectations for complex project types.
  • Passion for high quality and sustainable design. Experience with sustainable building rating systems an asset including LEED, Green Globes, passive house and/or ESDS.
  • Thorough familiarity with the technical considerations involved in coordinating and executing high-rise and mid-rise residential and/or public transit building types.
  • Familiarity with local and State codes, and Seattle’s Design Review process.
  • Strong experience in the management of documentation created in Revit Modeling. Fluency with graphic software such as Sketchup, Creative Suite, and 3D rendering software is an asset, as is use of excel, Microsoft project, smartsheets or other schedule management software.
  • Skill in the management and coordination of project documentation and preparation of presentation material.
  • An interest in specification writing, quality control, quality assessment, document review, construction administration, and active mentorship of staff is highly desired.
