Edmonds Waterfront Connector

Edmonds Waterfront Connector

Edmonds Waterfront Connector

The Waterfront Connector will be a pedestrian and emergency access overpass connecting the City to their waterfront parks and marina. In 2016 the City of Edmonds determined the need to address this complex part of the city due to the regular interaction between trains, vehicles, cyclists, pedestrians and ferries. The Connector was determined to be the best long-term solution to street-level railroad crossing conflicts, allowing pedestrians and emergency vehicles direct access to the waterfront in a seamless experience. Conceptual design has focused on bridge concepts that integrate with the natural context and enhance pedestrian experience. The design team is focused on creating a welcoming landing experience that balances the visual identity of the connector with safe and reliable user access.
