Metro Vancouver, BC
The Evergreen Line is the first application of light rail technology in the Greater Vancouver Regional District. The eleven kilometer line links neighborhoods in Burnaby, Port Moody and Coquitlam. It is envisioned as both a local and regional transit system as well as a tool for shaping land use and transit-oriented development.
VIA Architecture has led the conceptual planning process for civil design, urban design and architecture including horizontal and vertical light rail alignments, system-wide station design standards and the development of tunnel portals as components of integrated transportation nodes and as destinations within the urban context.
