The Crossing is a dynamic urban village of mixed uses in a transit-oriented development. This 1.1 million SF new urbanist model includes 800 units of housing, 280,000 square feet of retail and 150,000 square feet of office space. Layered within this active and livable multi-block development is a boutique hotel, two-level live/work lofts and authentic retailers. Entertainment retail, cafes and restaurants and a neighborhood grocery store enliven the project at night and bring a verve of activity to the whole community. A sustainable approach is strongly embraced to assure natural light and ventilation throughout the structure. In addition, the project benefits from passive solar shading, energy efficient synergies between uses, storm water re-use and specifications of locally-produced and ecologically smart materials.
