Vancouver, BC
GM Place is a hockey arena in Vancouver that had the need for both urban fit and a fast track schedule. This facility, situated between two road viaducts and an elevated transit line, needed to coordinate with the City's future urban and pedestrian design plan.
VIA developed architectural and urban design concepts using Building Information Modeling, 3D visualization, and obtained a fast track rezoning approval within seven months. This project gave us an appreciation of the interface of stadiums in relation to transportation infrastructure.
