Seattle, WA
The Seattle Monorail Project was a high profile major public infrastructure project in the City of Seattle that required significant architectural and urban design expertise, as well as considerations to fit it into the urban fabric. SMP was a design build project that required a comprehensive RFP document to be produced in a very short period of time by a large multi-disciplined team. As lead architect and urban designer, VIA coordinated over 30 subconsultant firms and worked closely with the lead engineering consortium to produce a comprehensive and innovative design build RFP document which has been cited as exemplary within the construction industry.
The RFP was produced simultaneously with an extensive EIS and public consultation process that involved over 1,000 public and stakeholder meetings.
