Building conditions review and site visits at Resolute Bay, NU, Canada. It was the first time I ever experienced the culture and climate in Nunavut, Canada. That alone was compelling. We spent several days in Resolute Bay assessing the conditions of several buildings. Through the observations and findings from the site visits, it helped emphasized further how important it is to analyze the climate of the location, the culture and way of life of the people/end users/community, and the longevity/durability/accessibility of materials when designing and constructing buildings.
Favorite Thing About Your Job
Working with a team; from collaborating during the design phase (with the client, internal and consulting team) to the construction phase (adding a contractor to the group). It takes open-minded people with great communication and respect for each other’s expertise for projects to be successful.
Favorite Thing to Do
Snowboarding, hiking, and going on walks with my adorable, old dog on the seawall while watching the sunset.
Three Things You Can’t Live Without
Love from my family/friends, laughter, and snow for snowboarding.
