Favorite Project & Why
Canada Line, Yaletown Station. It was a new building type for me; I enjoyed the scale of the project and that it is a building for public use. The demanding schedule and budget, though often a headache, challenged the team to come up with creative solutions to complex problems. It was my introduction to the rigor and rewards of coordination work.
Favorite Thing About Your Job
I like the process of taking all the different systems and fitting them together to make a functional, beautiful building. I also like that architecture isn’t just one thing and that I have the opportunity to investigate all its facets (legal, social, material, financial, etc.) throughout the life of a project.
Favorite Thing to Do
Walking – no particular route. Pick a neighbourhood, or a street, or a park and go for a walk. The city is always changing and there’s always something new to see. And you can do it no matter the weather, as long as you’re dressed for it.
Three Things You Can’t Live Without
Tea, colour, and interesting shoes.
