Favorite Project & Why
The UCSF Parnassus Comprehensive Plan is one of my favorite projects because it combines architecture and urban design with large scale thinking to reimagine the future of a whole campus. That scale of project, combined with studying multiple scales of detail (from a whole campus down to utility connections) provided a wide range of thinking, planning, and design thought.
Favorite Thing About Your Job
I love being able to think about how we as a profession can ideate about possible futures and articulate and collaborate with clients and public on how to create those visions about the future through our built work. Being able to take a diverse set of parameters, wrestle with them, and come up with interesting and unexpected solutions is what makes architecture and urban design so interesting. Each project, client, community, and site is unique.
Favorite Thing to Do
Exploring new cities through walking and transit, flaneur-ing, and going for hikes around the Bay Area. Traveling to new places and taking too many photos. Cooking and baking with friends and family.
Three Things You Can’t Live Without
