South Lake Union and Uptown Triangle Urban Design + Urban Form Studies

Since 2005, and leading up to the process, VIA Architecture was directly involved with many of the urban design and planning studies for South Lake Union, in collaboration with non-profit organizations such as the Leadership for Great Neighborhoods (Great City), South Lake Union Community Council (SLUFAN), Uptown Alliance, Cascade Bicycle Club and private property owners. With our compelling graphics and a deep understanding of development risks and regulatory tools, VIA was able to facilitate on-going discussions between stakeholders, and has given presentations to community groups, private property owners and City officials during this high profile rezone and environmental review.
Our team also provided the City with the 2011 South Lake Union Mobility Plan, studies and recommendations for future mixed-use, office and high-rise residential building prototypes, analysis and testing of the proposed incentive zoning codes, and recommendations to achieve a vibrant, 24/7 neighborhood.
